Adidas Formel 1

The Formel dates back to 1978, making it one of the more OG sneaker designs out there. I first came across them in a small sneaker store on Melrose around 2002. Their unique look and comfortable wear quickly made them my favorite daily wear.

As far as I know, Adidas has only done one re-release of this design since, which is a bummer because I'd love to have another pair. Instead, they chose to release a new model, the Iniki. with a Boost sole that drew heavy design inspiration from the Formel 1.

Legal/trademark issues led Adidas to rename the Iniki as I-5923 in 2017.
